Rules & Etiquette
Rule 1
Treat everyone with respect, and the same will be done to you.
Rule 2
If you or your child is sick, please respect others and stay home.
Rule 3
Always wear shoes when walking anywhere off the mats. Never wear shoes on the mats.
Rule 4
Help keep our academy and bathrooms clean. Take all your belongings with you when you leave and put trash in bins.
Rule 5
Please ask permission before video recording in class or during training.
Rule 6
Be careful with your training partner. To prevent injury apply submissions slowly and in a controlled manner, allowing your partner time to tap. Check your ego/attitude – we are all here to learn, it’s not a competition and there is nothing to prove on the mats in class.
Rule 7
Parents: please refrain from commenting or coaching kids during class. Let the instructors do their job.
Rule 8
There will be no supervision provided for children not taking class. If you bring them they must be watched. They must be quiet and stay with you during classes.
Rule 9
Please ensure your Gi, Rash Guards and other training gear are clean and free of foul odors for every class. Be aware of your personal hygiene. Make sure your fingernails and toenails are trimmed to avoid scratching your training partners. Wash your hands after using the bathroom.
Rule 10
If you have any type of skin infection (staph, ringworm, etc.) you will not be allowed to train until it is cleared up. These infections are highly contagious and can quickly spread to other students. If you suspect you may have an infectious skin condition or are not sure, please ask an instructor.
